We're always kept busy here at The Boiler Works, whether we're doing a photo shoot or hosting the next networking night.
Our recurring photography networking and Photo Shop nights are for all levels of photography in Stoke on Trent, from beginners to the experienced. The purpose of our networking and Photo Shop nights is to introduce those who perhaps are new to the photography scene to the models and give you the chance to meet other, more knowledgeable photographers and exchange tips and tricks on how to achieve the perfect shot.
For both of the above events, we introduce a different theme each time - we have two Photo Shop Gatherings coming up and the themes are an oriental style shoot and a Halloween shoot. Other themes in the past have included a swinging 60's style shoot, a Dreamboats and Petticoats style shoot and Audrey Hepburn style shoot. During the Photography Networking nights, all areas of both Venombase and The Boiler Works are open for photographic opportunities with various lighting set up in all locations. We charge £5 entry for photographers and if you're a model interested in having your photos taken to update or start a modelling portfolio, then it's free entry.
I've done quite a few monthly photography networking nights here now, and there is always a lovely warm welcome by those that run the place. Emma does a great job and makes the effort to try and add a bit of variety to the rooms. The models are of varying experience but always very patient and accommodating and have all been great to talk to and shoot. There is a good turn out of photographers, and I've found most are very considerate of the other photographers that may be in the same room and there is a lovely friendly atmosphere between us all. A bit of fun banter, easy to talk to and helpful. Overall I can't ask for more to practice and learn.
